Recently Rep. Earl Pomeroy has been running a campaign ad in which he says it is his job to help support your family. I take exception to that because it shows his arrogant liberal philosophy. It's my job alone to support my family and no one else's.

If Pomeroy wants to help, he can start by supporting tax cuts, which help everyone, not just a few select groups which he has chosen. Stop supporting anti-gun legislation, which does nothing but further restrict the rights of law-abiding citizens. Support real legislation that will overhaul Social Security so it does not run out of funds in the next 20 years. Also, stop using Social Security as a weapon to frighten our senior citizens during campaign season. Remember that it is Pomeroy and the Democrats who voted to raise taxes on Social Security benefits in 1993. Pomeroy needs to show some leadership on farm policy and stop using the farm economy of the Midwest as a rhetoric tool for the Democratic Party.

Pomeroy has shown through his actions that his style of representation is inconsistent with the wishes of the people of North Dakota. It is time for us to let Pomeroy know we are not satisfied with his actions.

I believe that Rick Clayburgh will honor the wishes of North Dakota citizens. Therefore, my vote is for Clayburgh.
