Feb. 5 is the day that many states will be indicating their preferences for the next president of the United States. I hope each citizen will attend their local caucus and indicate their choice. For those who may be undecided on a candidate, allow me to share my enthusiasm for a candidate who I believe will bring outstanding leadership to our great nation.
Mike Huckabee has a consistent record of being pro-life. He is a staunch Second Amendment advocate. Huckabee, while governor of Arkansas, pushed through the first major, broad-based tax cuts, a $90 million tax-relief package for Arkansas families. He worked to reform welfare, reducing the recipients by nearly 50 percent. More than 90 times he reduced taxes and fees.
While governor, using voter-approved financing, he took Arkansas' roads from the worst in the nation to the most improved, according to Truckers magazine. Arkansas schools went from being rated 49th to eighth in the nation. Huckabee favors eliminating the Internal Revenue Service and replacing it with the FairTax. Our current progressive tax system penalizes us for working harder and becoming more successful. Time magazine honored him as one of the best governors in the United States.
I believe Huckabee has the character, experience and determination to lead this nation to its greatest days. Please join me in supporting Huckabee for president.
