I didn't know whether to laugh or to cry when I picked up The Forum this morning and read the letter from Rev. Dennis Anundson June 2 regarding women's clothing. I thought people with such narrow views were long past.
I hope I am not the only one who finds it absurd to think that a woman would be damned to everlasting fire and brimstone if she dons a pair of pants. This twisted religious dogma is nothing more than an attempt to perpetuate the subjugation of women.
Ironically, the motto for Rev. Anundson's town of Hannaford, N.D., is: "A Community of Progress & Proud Heritage." Too bad one of their spiritual leaders is looking at the world through glasses made in the dark ages.
