I have lived in North Dakota for years and in Minnesota for years, and I am so proud of our regional senators! I follow the actions of the Congress carefully.
How could anyone not be proud of the work of Sens. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., and Mark Dayton, D-Minn., in the recent debates in the Senate over the budget. All of them have argued eloquently that the president's budget favors the rich and ignores the common citizen in every area -- veteran's benefits, education, toxic cleanup, health care, education, and all the rest.
The proceedings on CSPAN allow all of us to see and hear what they do to represent us, and I am thrilled that Dorgan, Conrad, and Dayton, all from small electoral states, have enormous impact because of their knowledge, skill, and heart. We have reason to pop our buttons in pride.
