Once again, President Bush is displaying his ignorance by his veto of a bill on embryonic stem cell research. The bill clearly stated that the only embryos that can be used are those that are about to be destroyed. There is absolutely no possibility of a life being destroyed by their use.
The television media that I have seen so far has avoided disclosing this information. The only way I became aware of it was through watching C-Span and the sponsors' explanation of it.
The public needs to contact the president immediately before he makes this tragic mistake. Adult stem cells are not useful for a host of diseases, including Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, etc. Embryonic stem cells are their only hope.
