I'm giving a leafy spurge to The Forum regarding their reprimand of "indignant Democrats" expressing disapproval for Gov. John Hoeven meeting with Karl Rove in Fargo.
Does The Forum's editorial board understand that Rove is under investigation for leaking the name of a CIA operative? Does The Forum's editorial board understand the many whisper campaigns and unethical campaign strategies this man has utilized to win elections?
We do not approve of Rove meeting with our governor. That's the bottom line.
North Dakotans pride themselves on clean politics, and Rove could be called the poster boy for dirty politics.
On Sept. 4, The Forum printed a column by David Danbom titled "Democrats a party of weenies." Part of the reason for this stigma is people like Rove have tried to walk all over us. That didn't happen here. Upon the announcement of Rove's trip, North Dakota Democrats showed that he was not welcome here. We showed him we have a spine, and we will stand up for the continuation of decent politics in our state.
