Jim Hapala, Janice Best and Connie Jadrny letter: Appreciate support for Vietnam Wall

The West Fargo VFW Post 7564 and West Fargo Chamber of Commerce would like to extend our most sincere thanks to everyone who helped make it possible to bring the Vietnam Moving Wall to West Fargo.

The West Fargo VFW Post 7564 and West Fargo Chamber of Commerce would like to extend our most sincere thanks to everyone who helped make it possible to bring the Vietnam Moving Wall to West Fargo.

Thousands of people from all around the area came to see the replica of the wall. Many distant memories seemed more recent and many stories were told as people slowly walked the path along the wall.

Without the support of the community, none of this would have been possible. The many hours of work from the three young adults at North Dakota State University; the 30-plus volunteers who showed up to help with the set up and tear down process; the donations from as far away as Minot, N.D.; the three contractors who donated their time, resources and manpower to place the concrete walkway; the nearby homes, where the wall stood, allowing us to use their neighborhood; the volunteers who helped man the wall 24 hours a day, through the rain, cold evenings and mosquitoes and never once was a complaint heard; the local businesses who generously donated their time and resources to make this a success; the West Fargo School District for allowing us to use their field any way needed; the news media for promoting this project and of course, to all the people who came to visit.

Thank you, most of all, for those who choose to protect our freedoms with the ultimate sacrifice, their lives.
