We had an unexpected visitor on Christmas Eve. We were home late in the evening after visiting family. My three-year-old daughter was in her pajamas and asking if she could wait up for Santa. I told her Santa would not come until she goes to sleep.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m., someone knocked on the front door. I looked out the window and saw a police car in front of the house. I was worried something had happened in our neighborhood. When I opened the door, expecting to see a police officer, I was surprised to see Santa and Mrs. Claus. They came in and Mrs. Claus gave our daughter a candy cane. Santa carried a large sack and pulled out a teddy bear for her. She was so surprised.
The tag on the bear stated the visit was a "Random Act of Christmas Cheer" brought to you by The Fraternal Order of Police, The Fargo Police Explorers, Mr. and Mrs. Claus, The Fargo Police Department, Cass County Sheriff's Dept. and Target Stores.
Thanks to all of those involved for randomly picking our house and giving my daughter a great Christmas memory.
