Judy Littlefield letter: Be assured, she will find the signs

Anyone having a garage sale knows of the hard work involved in preparing for these events, including preparing advertising and signs to promote the sale.

Anyone having a garage sale knows of the hard work involved in preparing for these events, including preparing advertising and signs to promote the sale.

We had obtained two outdated realtor signs from a realtor friend, and had spray painted them white, stenciled "garage sale" with an arrow pointing the way in black lettering. Due to the road construction in our area, we felt these signs were very important to us for a successful sale. We placed one at each corner of 18th and 20th Avenue South (18th Street) in Fargo to promote our multi-family sale on Friday, June 13th from 3 to 7 p.m. to be continued on Saturday, June 14 from 9-4 p.m.

Upon arriving to open the doors for our sale on Saturday morning, we discovered that someone had stolen both of our signs. Now was someone that desperate to have our signs for their own sale, or maybe the area kids having nothing better to do with their time ... in any case, we were not impressed by your actions. A lot of our time and effort went into making these signs for our use, not for your amusement.

My sister enjoys going to garage sales, and believe me when I say, she will be "looking" for these signs. So, save yourself the embarrassment of her spotting them first ... If anyone knows the whereabouts, maybe even seen them on your street, or perhaps feel a little guilty (doubtful) about your actions, please return them to where you took them ... they weren't yours for the taking.
