Kay Syvrud letter: Tofte sentence a 'gutless wonder'

The letter by Fargo police officer Michael Lovejoy (June 6) is an excellent expression of outrage over the non-conviction and freeing of David Tofte.

Upon reading the initial story of the Tofte trial and its outcome, I wondered if fear was part of Judge Cynthia Rothe-Seeger's rationale in setting this murderous criminal free.

I immediately thought back to the murder, a few months ago, of a Chicago judge's family by one of the felons at whose trial and sentencing the Chicago judge presided.

There must be some reason, apart from the law, for the "gutless wonder" outcome of Tofte's non-sentencing by Judge Rothe-Seeger. If she is an elected official, I hope North Dakota voters will set Rothe-Seeger "free" also.
