The mayors of Fargo and Moorhead have presented residents a walking fitness challenge (Forum, May 1) for the month of May.
They should have instructed walkers to bring plastic bags from SunMart, Hornbacher's or Cash Wise to pick up some the trash they will see on their daily walk. One bag will suffice for a 15-minute journey in most neighborhoods. Two or three bags might be enough if walking within six blocks of the North Dakota State University campus.
I don't walk much but will attempt to fill one bag per day riding my bicycle.
