On my way to work I heard that the inmates of Cass County Jail can reduce their sentence by five days a month with "good behavior." My immediate thoughts were ... What would the victims of murderers, drunk drivers, or assaults do to have just five more days of life? What would the victims of rape, abuse and other emotional and verbal crimes do for five nights of peaceful sleep without the torturous memories racing through their minds?
Once again, the system has let us down by giving more rights to those behind bars. This news makes me sick and ashamed of our judicial system.
