I suspect I am lacking logic as I become confused listening to our local newspersons tell us we may be wise, be better citizens or more eco-responsible in using recyclable shopping bags rather than plastic bags, to bring home our groceries.
My logical self tells me I am already recycling grocery store plastic bags each time I use one to line my kitchen garbage can.
The alternatives offered make no sense to me at all. There seems to be the paper grocery bag or the reusable cloth bag.
Using the first choice, the paper bag, creates a wet, greasy mess of food, cat litter and baby diapers for the poor soul who must manage the mess to haul away.
The second choice encourages the owner of the reusable bag to purchase plastic trash bags of all imaginable sizes to carry their household trash to their trash receptacles to be carried away.

See where I am going here?
Is the underlying plot to force all of us to buy plastic bags from said grocery store rather than to recycle the grocery bags they currently provide?
I am so confused.
