The Senate is poised to vote on a bill that is fiscally irresponsible and is not going to help small businesses.

As a small business owner in the Fargo community, I fully recognize the need to simplify the tax system through reform. However, it needs to be done right. The Republican bill has it wrong. This legislation makes tax cuts for small business temporary while the tax breaks for large corporations are permanent. In addition, it adds $1.5 trillion to the deficit in the next 10 Years.

We need a business environment which encourages entrepreneurship and business growth on Main Street in North Dakota. Our focus should be on individuals and small businesses. This tax bill tilts the benefits to large corporations. That's why I stand with a majority of small business owners opposing these bills.
