If Fargo City Commissioner Dave Piepkorn really wants to increase bicycle safety, then the thousands of dollars raised from these serious violations should be used to purchase helmets for the criminals.
I started wearing one after getting smacked by a driver blinded by the morning sun. Luckily, I only broke my wrist and not my unprotected skull. The scar and plate in my forearm are a constant reminder to wear my helmet. I will be forever thankful to Dr. Donald Opgrande for putting me back together. Otherwise, I wouldn't be golfing with my children.
