I attended the funeral of one of our best friend’s mothers this week.
She was a lovely lady who lived a good and long life and raised a wonderful family. To paraphrase scripture from Timothy—which was read at the service—she fought the good fight, she finished her race, she kept the faith.
While she had numerous friends and acquaintances in North Dakota and Minnesota, not near enough people had the chance to experience this women’s generous and giving spirit.
During the middle of her memorial service a thought came to my mind, which I believe is fairly profound. Her life was a testament to what America was, and is, and ought to be when it’s at its very best. Ginny Anderson was an ordinary person, living an ordinary life, accomplishing ordinary tasks, but in so doing she created an extraordinary world because she loved all those around her so deeply and so well!
