As a former U.S. Navy medical corpsman and family practice physician's assistant, I was shocked to see the news video of the boardroom meeting of Sanford Health employees shown on local evening news March 24.

The video shows examples of what the public has been advised not to do during the coronavirus pandemic:

  • A gathering of more than 10 people.
  • Sitting closer than 6 feet.

Even my pre-school grandchildren know better. How many of the laptops were sanitized after the meeting before being carried throughout the hospital? My guess is none.

What were all of these people (especially the organizer) thinking? Perhaps they should title the next boardroom meeting "What NOT To Do During A Pandemic."
