Please live up to your own words: Don’t allow a Supreme Court nominee to come before the Senate this year.
In 2016 you made it clear you would not support a SCOTUS nominee in the final year of a president’s term, referring to Merrick Garland, President Obama’s nominee. That year, there were 237 days before the presidential election. Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away just 46 days before the 2020 election.
You and your colleagues have twisted yourselves into knots to explain why this time is different. But none of the explanations pass the smell test.
Will you break your word? Or, will you stand for the integrity of the Senate?
