There is currently a bill before the North Dakota Senate, SB 2180, removing the mandated reporting exemption for “spiritual advising.” This bill violates the Catholic church’s doctrine. Isn’t that in direct violation of separation of Church and State?

The confessional is where sins are revealed anonymously to the priest who is acting in persona Christi, or in the person of Christ, and any information exchanged is sacrosanct. For this reason, I urge everyone to contact their legislators to vote no on SB 2180.
