In response to the letter, "Fairness needed in Forum political cartoons," published April 20:
I am asking Darlan Fatland to show some semblance of sentience in his thought process. Equating the trials and tribulations of being Black, the color of the skin one is born with, to that of being a police officer, a job which one has the freedom to pursue and leave at any time, is cruel and bigoted.
If Black people could change the color of their skin as easily as police officers can take off their uniforms, the police might never pull over a Black person again.
Here is a maxim that I hope puts Darlan on the right path. Guns do not kill people, police officers do.
