In his recent address to Congress, President Joe Biden said, “For too long, we have failed to use the most important word when it comes to meeting the climate crisis.” He says millions of new jobs will be created to combat climate change. He is calling for trillions of dollars in new spending to slow climate change and move toward carbon free energy sources. Biden and the political left have called climate change an existential threat which will be catastrophic if we don’t take drastic action.
He says the cost of inaction is mounting. Ironically the cost of his solutions to fight this so-called climate change is the real threat. It will drive up the cost of energy and increase poverty. I believe it could be the beginning of the end of our American way of life, our liberty and our future.
This whole “threat” is nothing but a propaganda tool the Democrats and the left use to instill fear and gain power. Climate disaster predictions have been around since the 1970s. Each “solution” involves greater socialism, new taxes, and forced de-industrialization. Recently Biden rejoined the U.S. into the Paris Climate Agreement which is nothing more than a transfer of America’s wealth to other developing nations.

A recent letter to the editor states that burning fossil fuels adds greenhouse gases to the atmosphere which drives up the temperature of the earth. The writer says, “Science tells us we are close to a ‘tipping point’ or a point of no return.” The narrative that the climate is changing from bad to worse is unhelpful alarmism. There are many reasons why climate changes – the sun, clouds, and orbital variations. There is no conclusive evidence that CO2 emissions are a dominant factor. There are tens of thousands of scientists that have serious questions regarding the causes of global warming.
The media, by not reporting on skepticism, have drowned out any serious debate. The truth is climate is always changing; CO2 is a greenhouse gas that life on earth is dependent upon. Atmospheric levels of CO2 have been increasing since the 19th century. The International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has acknowledged that, “The long-term prediction of future climate states is not possible”.
Climate is not our enemy. Biden should be focusing on America’s real enemies. China is gearing up to invade Taiwan, Russia is eyeing Ukraine, and Iran is hell bent on destroying Israel. We should be more concerned about America’s safety and the real threats to world peace by strengthening our military and modernizing our nuclear missiles. Decreasing energy independence will further weaken our national defense.
By shutting down construction of the Keystone XL pipeline and ending drilling on federal land, Biden is doing widespread damage to our oil and gas industry and our total energy sources. The International Energy Agency (IEA) has reported that wind and solar energy sources will only provide a minuscule 2.2% of the world’s energy by the year 2040.
It is very possible that history will document how great America used to be before these narcissistic Democrats believed they had the power to control the atmosphere, the level of the oceans and limit tropical storms. But in the end, all they succeeded in doing was to destroy America.
Common sense tells us that we should get as many facts as possible before we severely damage our economy and decrease our standard of living. Responsible planning for the future is essential. It seems many people in our country have either lost or never found a reason to have hope in America or its future. Trying to control climate is a false hope. Our only real hope comes from faith - faith in God.
