On Friday morning the United States Senate took a procedural vote on whether or not to investigate the January 6th attack on the United States Capitol. The United States House of Representatives had at an earlier date voted to create just such an independent commission.

I noticed that North Dakota Sens. John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer voted against this investigation; that is a real mystery to me. Why would they not want this to be investigated? Is it possible that they were secretly involved in supporting this riot, and that they are fearful of the public learning the truth? I certainly hope not.

Our two senators owe the people of North Dakota an explanation for the way that they voted.
