Recently it has been revealed to us citizens of Fargo that there will be a new feature on our law enforcement vehicles with the message of "trust, accountability and inclusion."

This side of the new Fargo police squad vehicles says "built on trust, accountability and inclusion," while the other side has the words "A safe and unified community." The new design was displayed just outside the front doors of the Fargo City Hall after the annual police report was given Monday, June 14, 2021. Photo by City of Fargo

As a way of remembrance, here is some history:

"Protect and Serve," law enforcement before order maintenance; or "Serve and Protect," which should be the correct message, one of order maintenance before laws are enforced.

This new design speaks to me as nothing but a political message incorporating the wokeness of the hour, with a side of the social justice hymn inclusion.

If there is going to be inclusion of any type, let's pray that it will include all the criminals including appropriate adjudication.

It would not surprise me when there will come a day when the BLM fist is embossed upon the taillight lenses’ of the cruisers.

The old saying suffices here…”If it is not broke, do not try and fix it.”
