Karen Gemar is no doubt well intended, but her stance regarding vaccine mandates is confused for several reasons.
First, Gemar uses the code word “experimental” to describe the COVID-19 vaccines currently available in the United States under FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization. Is she basing her “choice” on the opinions of Fox News personalities?
Second, she quotes the Nuremberg Code—that is, a code created by humans, like Dr. Anthony Fauci—for proof that mandates should not be of this world. Instead of dictates, she prefers choice. Only in this matter? Or in all matters related to the human body?
And third, she disputes how some Christians may be worshiping. Perhaps a better question might be “What would Jesus do?” His guidance appears in the New Testament—namely, Mark 12:31 (KJV): “… Thou shalt love thy (neighbour) as thyself.”
In other words, helping to maintain public safety just might be a Christian act of love.
