I see that Jim Shaw's email address has been removed from the bottom of the absurdity he calls a column. Is his mailbox too full of hate mail to receive any more responses to his liberal whining?
- Shaw: Republican minority is waging war with our democracy
- Shaw: Keep those comments coming
- Shaw: It's time for another round of 'Reader Feedback'
He wants to remove the Electoral College, I see. Wasn't removing Woodrow Wilson's name off one of our local schools satisfying enough for him? He apparently wants states like California and New York to dictate everything for the smaller states like North Dakota.
He also bellyaches about the filibuster. He claims it allows 41 votes to defeat 59 votes. No, Jim, it allows certain bills to pass by a 60% majority.
He also complains about voter suppression laws as being un-American by limiting the voting of people likely to vote for Democrats. Really, Jim, I would say they are designed to prevent those that are not Americans, or are dead, from voting in our elections. I will agree with him that these are the types of people who would vote Democrat.
I see the reason The Forum wants a column from the left (Jim Shaw's), just as they have Scott Hennen expressing conservative views. The Forum would like to keep readership from both sides of the political aisle. But seriously, can't you come up with someone better than Jim Shaw to represent the left?
