If the city of Fargo is still weighing options regarding the North Broadway bridge, I’d like to propose the creation of a pedestrian-only crossing not unlike what links Oak Grove Park in north Fargo and Riverfront Park in Moorhead.

This would allow closing the stretch of Broadway from 37th Ave. N. leading to the pedestrian bridge. Once across the pedestrian bridge, a bike path could be established that leads to and along the Oakport prairie area.

As an avid cyclist I've noticed an increase in pedestrian usage of this area since the bridge closed. Permanently eliminating vehicular traffic would add to the quality of life for Fargo and Moorhead residents who call the north side of the metro area home.
