In an email update on the legislature I just received from the AFL-CIO I was just informed several things:
The North Dakota Legislature voted down collective bargaining for firefighters and police officers and was working on passing a bill stopping cities and counties from setting a minimum wage above the state level of $7.25. At the same time, they reported they can't find a good way to bring qualified applicants into the state to fill jobs.
Do you think there is a correlation between lack of labor protection, low wages and people not wanting to work in North Dakota? Maybe there is a silver bullet looking us in the face to fill all those jobs in the state everyone is talking about.
