I absolutely love the Moorhead troop of turkeys. They come strolling down the sidewalk and wander into our yard foraging under the bird feeders. I get to enjoy them frolicking, talking back and forth, and get to see the young toms practice courting.
They have never ever presented any problem to us. They are orderly and careful when they cross streets, they don't bother anyone on the sidewalk or in the yard, and they seem to know how to deal with traffic quite well.
I am very sorry that so many people do not like them. Let's try to remember this was their territory before it became ours.
They do no harm, they carry no diseases that affect us, they don't terrorize our pets, and - as far as I know - they don't ruin any gardens. Just let them be.
