A hearty congratulations to the Bison football team. This program keeps soaring to new heights that leave us smiling and shaking our heads in amazement. Host ESPN College GameDay twice? Seven national championships in eight years? Wins over Kansas State and Iowa? The second pick of the NFL Draft? Just another day in Bison Nation. And now a trip to the White House? Amazing.
Regardless of your political affiliation, how can you not take pride in watching Coach Matt Entz, Easton Stick and crew on the biggest stage in the world? Presenting the president of the United States with a green and yellow Bison jersey is a big deal.
The way the team, coaches and administrators represented Fargo on March 4 is something everyone in North Dakota can be proud of. It’s been, and continues to be, an amazing ride following these goal-oriented, overachieving young men. And I guarantee what they’ve accomplished on the field will pale in comparison to what these student-athletes will accomplish in life.
A first trip to Washington for many of these young men may very well turn into the first of many to our nation’s capital for these future businessmen, doctors, teachers, farmers, professional football players, and after Monday, who knows, maybe there’s a future congressmen or two in the group?
Thank you President Dean Bresciani, Matt Entz and Athletic Director Matt Larsen for showing an entire country what we in Fargo already know. You won’t find better young men anywhere else on the planet.
