Earlier this week our new president, Joseph Biden, promised that he would be a president for all Americans. I hope and pray that he doesn’t overlook those who need this promise the most, the youngest and most defenseless living in their first nine months of life, our pre-born sisters and brothers of the human race.
Everyone reading this letter was at one time in their pre-born stage of human life. When I was this age, all branches of our government, including the president, protected my life by law. May it be so again soon.
Every scientific measurement declares the pre-born to be a living human being. Our human DNA is established at the moment of conception, and is unique and separate from the mothers DNA. The medical terms such as zygote, embryo, and fetus merely describe the stages of our development - but we are the same human being both before and after our birth.

Letter: Babies' lives matter Abortion has been called by some, “the government-sanctioned atrocity of our time.” It is the leading cause of death in America. We should all be proclaiming, “Baby lives matter!”
Some call abortion health care, but genuine health care doesn’t intentionally plan on killing one’s pre-born children, and especially since it is known medically that nearly 100% of abortions in our country are not necessary to save the life of the mother.
Intentionally ending the life of an innocent human being by abortion is a crime against humanity itself. Mother Teresa reminded us that: “Any country that accepts abortion, is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what it wants." She also wisely stated: “If we accept that the mother can kill her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another.” God’s commandment says it even more clearly: “Thou shalt not kill.”

Who would end the life of their child at three months of age after it is born? And yet this is the same human life, with exactly the same DNA, the same beating heart, and the same brain waves as at three months into a pregnancy, just several months older.
Some may ask why I am concentrating on the pre-born lives and not the mothers’ lives? This is because the lives of the mothers are already legally protected by our laws - while the separate lives of their unborn children currently are not protected. We need to protect and love them both - and as mentioned earlier, in nearly all situations this can be done without ending the life of the pre-born baby.
And if the ability or the willingness of the mother to parent is absent at the time, there are so very many who are waiting and longing to share their love through adoption.
President Biden, may you fulfill your promise of being president for all American lives. And may the rest of us also rise to the challenge of helping those mothers who, for one reason or another, find themselves in need of this help! May all our choices be on the side of life rather than death.
