I enjoyed the-well written article from reporter Wendy Reuer concerning the resignation of West Fargo City Administrator Tina Fisk. Reuer completed an in-depth search for the facts to provide a clear picture as to what had taken place prior to and following Fisk’s exit.

After her resignation, former West Fargo City Administrator Tina Fisk sent an email to two commissioners alluding to a severance request and expressing disappointment in Mayor Bernie Dardis.

The Forum obtained an email Fisk sent to West Fargo Mayor Dardis and Commissioner Olson on Saturday, March 18, from her personal email address. Fisk referenced former Police Chief Mike Reitan and Public Works Director Chris Brungardt, two department heads terminated with cause but given a severance package of some kind. Fisk said the difference between her and them was that she is a woman. She said there was no evidence of her not doing her job.

Fisk statement was just another example of Fisk’s frequent untruths. The truth is Police Chief Mike Reitan did not receive a severance package following his release from the city of West Fargo.

Not only did Reitan not receive a severance package but Fisk actively fought to deny Reitan unemployment benefits. As noted in Fisk’s emails to the commissioners, she continues to shift blame, tell untruths, and make herself to be the victim. This is a pattern of immaturity and instability she has displayed for a number of years. The citizens of West Fargo are much better off to have Fisk gone.

Mike Reitan is the former West Fargo police chief.
