On May 8, Mike Hulett’s opinion piece was titled “ Times that try men’s souls. ”
There was very little in this piece with which I could agree but one line in particular stood out as way over the top. He wrote, “Many school children are being taught to hate police, the National Anthem, and the American Flag.”
Mr. Hulett, do you have any evidence to support that statement? (Remember that teaching children to celebrate the good while acknowledging the bad is called critical thinking with painful honesty.) I look forward to your response showing lesson plans, or secret meetings to set up these teachings, or emails sharing tips on how to teach hate.
If you can’t provide specific proof… well, that’s what tries this woman’s soul.
