Letter: Here's what we need in a candidate for office

Garcia writes, "Fargo needs more candidates that will ensure the safety of the citizens and their property."

Letter to the editor FSA

Holding office isn't just about partisan talking points. Running and/or holding office is also about, for example, resisting those who believe taking an ax to a senator's office windows is an appropriate response to tough times.

It's also about running candidates that believe it is inappropriate to financially support that same axe-wielding individual, as well as conceal the act of doing so.

It's also about running candidates that support our laws and law enforcement agencies, and discourage the pampering and light sentences that have been commonplace in many publicized Fargo legal cases.

Fargo needs more candidates that will ensure the safety of the citizens and their property, whether from axes or taxes.

Nicole Garcia lives in Fargo.
