Letter: If Fargo needs a homeless shelter it should be built in Fargo, not Moorhead

Fargo citizens have already pulled a fast one on Moorhead taxpayers by building a homeless complex on the city's northside.

Fargo City Planning Director, Nicole Crutchfield, wants to build a homeless shelter in Moorhead. The beauty of this new facility, she said, is that it is on a city bus route. She also stated that she is seeking money from Minnesota taxpayers. What a joke.

The beauty is, in reality, Moorhead taxpayers will be responsible for building, supporting and maintaining this Fargo shelter. Fargo citizens have already pulled a fast one on Moorhead taxpayers by building a homeless complex on the city's northside. Now they want to add to Moorhead, Clay County, and Minnesota state taxpayers' burden by building another shelter.

I know for certain Fargo has bus routes, too. If the City of Fargo wants a Homeless Shelter, build it in Fargo.

Mary Melvin lives in Moorhead.
