Letter: It is not 'all in good fun' and don't tell me both sides do it

Letter to the editor FSA

I will keep this relatively short, although I do have a great deal to say. I find it baffling that the Republicans - the holier-than-though, flag-waving, God-evoking party - deal in such vulgarity and disrespect.

I see flags flying "F... Biden" and "F... those who voted for him." Now the local grocery store is selling cookies that basically say the same thing. It is not "all in good fun" and don't tell me both sides do it. That is simply not true. I have never seen any other party resort to such vulgarity and disrespect.

There must still be some decent Republicans out there. It is time for them to speak up. Our democracy is a fragile thing. The events of January 6th have made that clear. We need to honor the will of the people, even when we don't get what we want.
I am a veteran and former Peace Corp volunteer. I used to be proud of my country and felt blessed to be an American. Now, I feel like apologizing. I'm certainly not proud of Fosston, Minn., and I, for one, will never set foot in Palubicki's grocery again. I would rather starve.
