My mother was a resident at Lilac Homes in Moorhead, being cared for as a result of her advanced dementia. I observed the staff at different times of the day both providing care for my mother and other residents, and they always showed the greatest respect, dignity and concern for their needs.
I was particularly impressed by Bill and Gina Nelson, who are the owners of this facility. It's not often you see administration involved with the residents and their genuine compassion for each one was evident.
I've had both of my parents in nursing home care for the last 12 years and the care our mother received at Lilac Homes was by far the best. Before mother passed away in November, Hospice of the Red River Valley became involved and worked in conjunction with the staff at Lilac Homes. Their expertise and genuine concern helped us through this difficult time. We deeply appreciate all that both of these fine organizations did for both our mother and our family.
