Letter: Members of the LGBTQ+ community are not 'sexual deviants'

"In 2022, is it necessary for The Forum to publish the antiquated ramblings of every octogenarian religious goofball?" asks Albany, Ore. resident Steve Thiel.

I made the mistake of glancing at The Forum’s opinion section today. Whose decision was it to publish Lloyd Omdahl’s latest nonsense?

Columnist Lloyd Omdahl writes, "When we are tempted to relegate addicts and sexual deviants to hell, we need to remember that Christianity is not a corporate problem but it is personal."

Omdahl sanctimoniously claims that good “Christ-followers” shouldn’t judge, while countless times referring to members of the LGBTQ+ community as “sexual deviants.” The column reads like the print equivalent of your creepy uncle starting a conversation with, “I’m not racist, but…”

In 2022, is it necessary for The Forum to publish the antiquated ramblings of every octogenarian religious goofball?
