In his May 15th response to my wealth inequality letter , Paul Harris didn't appear to grasp the argument I was making: Wealth can be accumulated by middle class America and ignore the noise about the incredible wealth achieved by others. Many families have a net worth of $250,000 - $ 1 million, and more could join the club with better spending and saving habits.
I'm just tired of reading this garbage about "wealth inequality." Visit a financial planner. Open a savings account for your children. Encourage them to save their birthday money. Match the amount they deposit. Open a college savings account with automatic payments from your bank account. Educate your children on financial matters. Open a retirement account for your teenager when they start working. Once your kids get in the habit of saving and investing money, they will understand the foolishness of expensive cars that decline in value every year.
