I sent a previous letter to the editor defending myself against Mike McFeely’s bullying. Apparently, he is a big of fan of mine and so I feel the need to defend myself for a second time .
I am a mom of two, lifelong north Fargo resident and a veteran. I am anything but the “extremist” that McFeely claims I am.
For the past number of years, we have had constantly moving boundaries, infrastructure issues, contentious teacher negotiations and increased violence in our classrooms. Teachers are not being properly supported, some don’t feel safe in their own classrooms, parents are being left out of all conversations, and most members of the current board aren’t doing anything to change this.
I want to address and fix all of these things. What that really means, is that I’m a parent with kids in the Fargo school system that wants to do something and not stand by and watch these problems compound on themselves.
Mcfeely says, “Your choice. We reported” (biased obviously), “and you decide.” It is your choice, and I challenge you to reach out to a teacher you know, a neighbor that is a teacher, or your child’s teacher, and ask them if they feel things are going well, or if things need to be changed? I know what most of them will tell you. That’s why I’m running for Fargo School Board.

Don’t make this race about politics, instead let’s get back to what it is about, our teachers, parents and the kids. They all deserve better, and I promise I will do everything I can, to do just that.
My name is Allie Ollenburger, and I am running for Fargo School Board.
Allie Ollenburger lives in Fargo.
