Letter: Pension scare tactics are unjustified

As a former 40-year educator, who depends upon the North Dakota Teachers Fund for Retirement for part of my financial livelihood, I noticed that nowhere in Republican Raheem Williams' May 20th column does he write that it will come to an end.

Well over a month ago I called the North Dakota Retirement and Investment Office and the Teachers Fund for Retirement and was assured that teachers would receive their pensions as required by North Dakota law.

I am sure the facts and figures of Williams' article are accurate, but he has resorted to scare tactics and given time the TFFR investments will recover. His scare tactics are unjustified for those of us who are required to pay into the fund.
