The state of North Dakota has lagged behind in funding education and the Legacy Fund has been stockpiling money. Now you are proposing a library/monument to Teddy Roosevelt for $50 million?
North Dakota has been saving for a "rainy day" with the Legacy Fund. I don't think that the Teddy Roosevelt Library is a great use of "rainy day" funds. It's been "pouring rain" in public education for over five years and the state legislature and governor's office shrug their shoulders and expect us to "tighten our belts" and keep moving forward.
North Dakota teachers are putting their hearts and souls into educating the kids of North Dakota. How about the state of North Dakota and the governor's office use that $50 million to properly fund education in our great state?
