On May 5, between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., my cousin, Perry, and I had a very pleasant experience at The Flying Pig Bar and Grill on Sheyenne Street in West Fargo. We were on our way to the funeral service of a family member who was a veteran. My cousin is a Veteran of the North Dakota National Guard. I am a Navy Veteran, Vietnam era 1966-1970.
I was in my AMVETS uniform as I was part of the color guard and honor guard that would be rendering honors at the graveside. We were seated by the front window, enjoying a great burger and a great salad. There were three or four younger gentlemen seated in southwest corner of the bar. When I asked for the check, I was told it was taken care of by the gentlemen in the corner.
I don’t know who you are, but thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. It was humbling and greatly appreciated. I have done the same for veterans quite often.
