Letter: When will Biden visit the border?

Barry Buchill of West Fargo writes, "Biden said back in 2021 he didn’t have time to visit the border. He apparently has no such time issues when it comes to traveling to his home in Delaware on a frequent basis."

Why does President Biden continue to say that he has been to our southern border? Both he and Vice President Harris maintain they have been to the border but there is no evidence to support their claims.

During a CNN town hall in October of 2021 he was asked why he hasn’t been there yet since it had been nearly a year since he took office. He said, “I’ve been there before and I haven’t-I mean, I know it well. I guess I should go down. But the whole point of it is I haven’t had a whole hell of a lot of time to get down.”

On Sept. 22, 2021, Peter Doocy from Fox News told Jen Psaki that there is no record of him ever visiting the border in any capacity, even as a concerned citizen. She replied that she would check her history books and provide an update on when he had been to the border. No update was ever provided.

On June 8, 2021, NBC’s Lester Holt interviewed Harris. He pointed out to her directly that she had not been to the border. She replied she hadn’t been to Europe either and started laughing.

As the situation at our southern border worsens by the day, this issue has come up again. On Tuesday House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy invited President Biden to accompany him on a trip to see first-hand what is happening. Peter Doocy, in an exchange with Karine Jean-Pierre, told her that since Biden has never been to the border, would he be going? She stated that he had been to the border and when challenged by Doocy on when he had been there, she ignored him and moved on.

It’s interesting how Democrats never tire of talking about all the bad things they accuse Trump of, but are fine with the current president and vice president completely ignoring a national catastrophe, not caring enough to even go down there, and then continually lying about it.
