Looks like some homeowners along the Sheyenne River in the Maple Grove addition have elm trees with Dutch elm disease. Horace, N.D., has no program to remedy the problem so it is up to individual homeowners to properly remove the trees.
Please, homeowners, check your elm trees, and if they are dying, find out why. If it is Dutch elm disease, it is very important to properly dispose of the trees right away. In lieu of help from Horace, we have to take care of this problem ourselves before it spreads.
