Margaret D. Powers letter: History, nostalgia at Fargo Theatre

My daughter, Sheila Powers Converse, and her piano partner, Linda Maranis, have been invited to give a piano concert for the '50s class reunion of the Fargo High School today (July 11) at the historic Fargo Theatre.

My daughter, Sheila Powers Converse, and her piano partner, Linda Maranis, have been invited to give a piano concert for the '50s class reunion of the Fargo High School today (July 11) at the historic Fargo Theatre.

It is perhaps of interest to Fargo old-timers that Sheila will be returning to play in the Fargo Theatre which her grandfather, T.F. Powers and T.F. Powers Construction Company, built in 1926 and owned with his business partner, Peter Elliot.

Sheila's father, Tom L. Powers, managed the business of the theater and on T.F. Powers' death, he became half owner.

How pleased T.F. Powers, and Sheila's father would be to know that their granddaughter and daughter was to perform in the lovely refurbished and again vibrant Fargo Theatre with which her family was associated for so many years.

Sheila grew up in Fargo and was a 1953 graduate of Fargo High School.
