I am aghast at the proposal by the president, and the endorsement of it by The Forum, to escalate our involvement in the Iraq conflict.
I'm afraid that the president (and The Forum's editors) have lost touch with reality - or at least with the American public, which overwhelmingly regards the Iraq war as a tragic waste of life and resources.
It is time to stop this madness. The election of a Democratically controlled Congress was a good first step, but it further seems we must contact our political representatives to express our sincere alarm at this woeful development.
