Martha B. Lee letter: Mardi Gras was the right way to go

In response to "City votes down relief," Oct. 25:

I applaud the three city commissioners on their vote to raise money for hurricane victims. This is much fairer to the people of Fargo.

The Mardi Gras event was a wonderful get-together. Our tax dollars are needed right here at home.

We sent our donation directly to the person in need.
