After reading that there is so much extra money for a new arena, I have a few questions I hope the Fargo School Board can answer.
Why if there is such an excess of money are there fundraisers going on at this time to make sure that every child gets midmorning milk? This is an expense that some parents can't afford, and there are many kids that go without. But yet there is so much money to fund an arena that although would be nice to have, isn't a must?
Why do Fargo families pay for their kids to use the school busing system, but if you live in West Fargo or Moorhead there is no fee? As a single mom of four (of which three use the bus to get to school) it costs me 35 cents for each child for each way to get to school. That is $2.10 a day. That is a huge expense when you are on a fixed budget. That is an average of almost $40 a month spent on bus tickets for my kids to get school.
I just don't know why there is a huge surplus and it's being used for something that isn't a must, but when there is a need, it's looked over.
