I am appalled by the article about Republican Senate candidate Mike Liffrig of Mandan, N.D., accusing Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., statements are false and his name-calling of Michael Moore is anti-American. The opposite is true in each case. If anything, it would seem that Liffrig was angry because he wanted to get attention and to make false impressions of both our excellent senator and the award-winning filmmaker.
Dorgan spoke the truth about what he knew. He is expressing concern about the people and our nation's safety. There is truth to the bin Laden family being the only ones being able to be fly out of the country after the attacks on Sept. 11. There should be concern of who did authorize it, especially if it was our president.
There is also truth to what he says about expressing concern about having matches or lighters on airplanes.
It is true that there was a gentlemen that tried to blow up an airplane by trying to light explosive materials on his shoes? Why haven't these two things been added to the list of things that should not be taken onto airplanes?
Dorgan has the right to speak the truth, as does Moore. This is America, isn't it?

Moore backs up his words with facts, with articles in every book that he reads. He backs up his footage by not having it staged, but he films it as it happens. Moore is not anti-American, but maybe he is more American than we are. He wants us to live in an honest world where we do not have to be afraid of going to school, flying on an airplane, or to simply walk on the street. Moore takes the heat that others are afraid to.
The worst accusation of Liffrig is the comment that "if the film results in additional deaths of U.S. soldiers, 'some of that blood is on his (Dorgan's) hands.'" This is an outrageous thing to say because where is the honesty in what he is saying? What evidence or reasons does Liffrig have to say such a thing? None. He does nothing but name call and exaggerate and this is one reason why I cannot vote for such a candidate.
We are going through hard times right now in America.
I challenge people to keep their minds open and look at all sides of what is going on. We must try and find out the truth the best way we can without being prejudiced, name-calling or pettiness.
