I was reading the Forum Feb. 25, and saw the column by Harold Duebbert. I agree with Duebbert in the fact that North Dakota is trying to shut out nonresident hunters. I do not understand why a state with economic issues would want to make new law restricting hunters coming into the state to spend money.
I am working in Fargo and will be finishing my graduate studies at North Dakota State University. I moved up here from South Dakota. I have been reading in The Forum about "Saving North Dakota." North Dakota has to realize that South Dakota generates millions of dollars a year from out-of-state hunters. People come to the state from all over the world to hunt pheasants and waterfowl.
Why would North Dakota and its Legislature want to deny that kind of prosperity to the state?
